A.C.E.R Assessment
The Australian version of BroadLEARN™ Early Learning contains assessment objects developed in collaboration with our assessment partners, The Australian Council for Educational Research (A.C.E.R), which also administers the national benchmark tests at Year 3, 5, 7 and 9.
The A.C.E.R. Alphabet Letters Test assesses knowledge and understanding of the alphabet. Each time the test is attempted, the student responds to a new set of questions. Each test consists of 30 questions which are selected randomly from a bank of 72 questions. Individual tests include ten letter names questions, ten letter sounds questions, five initial sounds questions and five alphabet order questions. The tests feature a clear interface, intuitive navigations and audio support which can be replayed by the student.
The A.C.E.R. Rhyming Words and Blends Test assesses knowledge and understanding of the rhyming words and letter sounds. Each time the test is attempted, the student responds to a new set of questions. Each test consists of 25 questions which are selected randomly from a bank of 40 questions. Individual tests include ten end sound questions, ten rhyming word questions and five mixed initial and end sound questions. The tests feature a clear interface, intuitive navigations and audio support which can be replayed by the student.
The A.C.E.R. Counting Test assesses knowledge and understanding of cardinal numbers. Each time the test is attempted, the student responds to a new set of questions. Each test consists of 20 questions which are selected randomly from a bank of 40 questions. Individual tests include ten counting questions, ten counting out questions, five matching digits to number words and five counting order questions. The tests feature a clear interface, intuitive navigations and audio support which can be replayed by the student.
The A.C.E.R. Patterns and Shapes Test assesses knowledge and understanding of common 2D shapes and patterns. Each time the test is attempted, the student responds to a new set of questions. Each test consists of 20 questions which are selected randomly from a bank of 40 questions. Individual tests include five sorting and patterning shapes questions, five odd-one-out questions and five sorting and matching questions. The tests feature a clear interface, intuitive navigations and audio support which can be replayed by the student.
The A.C.E.R. Vocabulary Listening Test assesses knowledge and understanding of the nouns, action verbs and adjectives used in Units 1, 2, 3 and 9. Each time the test is attempted, the student responds to a new set of questions. Each test consists of 20 questions which are selected randomly from a bank of 30 questions. Individual tests require students to hear a word and then select onscreen word, image or colour. The tests feature a clear interface, intuitive navigations and audio support which can be replayed by the student.
The A.C.E.R. Vocabulary Reading Test assesses knowledge and understanding of the nouns, action verbs and adjectives used in Units 1, 2, 3 and 9. Each time the test is attempted, the student responds to a new set of questions. Each test consists of 20 questions which are selected randomly from a bank of 30 questions. Individual tests require students to respond to a spoken question by selecting an onscreen word that matches the image. The tests feature a clear interface and intuitive navigation. Note: This test is the same as the Vocabulary Listening test but also tests children’s ability to identify individual words.
The A.C.E.R. Position, Days and Clock Times Test assesses knowledge and understanding of mathematical concepts and vocabulary from Units 1, 4 and 9. Each time the test is attempted, the student responds to a new set of questions. Each test consists of 20 questions which are selected randomly from a bank of 50 questions. Individual tests include five questions based on time, five questions using positional language and five questions each on Days of the Week and shape names. The tests feature a clear interface, intuitive navigations and audio support which can be replayed by the student.
